[The Wonderful World of Podding]

I’ve become addicted to podcasts and I don’t even own an ipod, or any kind of mp3 player for that matter.
The fact that anyone and everyone who has a truck load of bandwidth and webspace can broadcast is fantastic - though of course the quality varies hugely. For me though it’s opened the floodgates, offering a bountiful supply of big band music and 1940s/50s radio plays to feed my addiction.

Radio Memories
Antique Phonograph Music Program which has some wonderful (and frankly bizarre) stuff in it.

PALE SPACE, Thomas St, Dublin

Being really quite awful at this blogging malarkey I am in fact about four days late in posting these snaps; however better late than never. Pale Space is a new Art Café opening on Thomas St (corner of Francis St.), and at the mo it's showing photos by myself, Lili and Anna Rackard (to name but a few of the very cool arteeeests whose work is available for viewing and buying). If by chance anyone is actually reading this blog other than Lili, drop by, have a coffee and take a look! I'll post some more pics after I drop in again tomorrow or the next day.

The Hill of Tara | Summer Solstice Celebrations 2005

The crowd watching as a ceremony is performed by a group of Druids.

The Mound of The Hostages, aka the sliding hill for the kids. Lol.

One of the group of Druids that were present performing the talamh (earth) ceremony on what used to be King Cormac's house.

And so began the sunset celebrations with fire dancers, beating drums and musical instruments of all descriptions. There was even a long-red-haired rapper. He was actually very, very good! We were all sitting in a hollow in the ground, in the Rath of the Synods I think.

As the light gradually faded a few people took turns to sing, sometimes others would join in.
